Baking runs in the family.

The Authentic Bread Company is a family run business with Alan, Jane and their children Emily, Alex, Sophie and Tim being involved throughout the life of the business. Love of baking runs in the family, with Jane’s Grandfather and Great Grandfather owning and working in the only bakery in Eastnor, Herefordshire throughout the 1800s.

French holidays and Bread culture.

Alan and Jane have always enjoyed holidays in France along with their children and now grand children. The bread culture of France has been one which the Davis family enjoy, going to the local boulangerie for the daily baguette and it is that quality and love of bread that the family strive for their own country to embrace. The company have welcomed visiting french bakers in the past to inspire to train and inspire their staff.

In 2021 after increasing sales, the company left their home of 20 years at Strawberry Hill, Newent and moved to a purpose built modern factory in the village of Longhope. The company have invested hundreds of thousands of pounds on new equipment and hired more staff to meet the demands of their customers. The company is still run by the family, while Alan and Jane enjoy semi retirement; Alex, Emily and Sophie manage the business.
